*First Impression at ULTA*

Some say first impressions are everything... are they?

On Monday, I stopped at ULTA for the first time ever since I received a circular in the mail with a 40% discount on selected brands and $3.50 off a purchase of $10.00 or higher.  Honestly, I love love love Sephora since it was pretty much all I knew.  I really enjoyed walking around ULTA and not having anyone follow me as if I was going to steal something.  Oh yes, I went to Sephora a couple months ago in NJ and an employee was following me just because I had a Sephora bag already and I went back into the store since I forgot an item.  I guess she never heard of remembering what you originally went in for once outside the store.  I do that a lot when I go to the supermarket for milk, then buy everything else except the milk.

Now back to ULTA...
I went in to check what ULTA is all about and found myself loving everything about the store.  I found my little piece of heaven in the whole wide world after DSW and before Macy's.  I was really impressed at the quantity of low end items they carry and also the prices.  They have a rewards programs which you earn points from your purchases and redeem for items.  The staff was really nice and greeting everyone that came in the store.  At this point, I can't even remember if they were playing music since it was really calm and quiet.  I'm one of those people that when I walk into a store I don't want to feel like I'm in a club.  I want to be able to hear my own thoughts and find the sale racks ASAP.

I am not sure if all stores have the same layout, but from what I noticed on my visit, the one in Brandon, FL, was very clean and divided into sections.  Once you walk into the store, the lower priced items are located to the left, the higher priced items to the right and a salon at the end.  Guess where I went??? exactly, to the left... to the left.  I already own plenty of Urban Decay, Tarte, Too Faced, etc.

The prices are very similar to any drugstore out there for the low end items.  For example, I purchased the L'oreal True Match foundation for around $10.49 at a nearby drugstore and found it at ULTA for $8.99.  If you have an ULTA nearby, I suggest that you grab your bag, keys and cellphone and pay a visit.  I actually went to ULTA yesterday because I "forgot" something that I'm pretty sure I am going to use.  I usually don't brag about stores and their customer service since I had my share of rude individuals, but I am very pleased with my visit.

What are your thoughts on ULTA?
Cheers...and always beautify ur life.
